Keshav Gangadhar Tilak (Birth Anniversary)
Keshav Gangadhar Tilak, popularly known as Bal Gangadhar Tilak, was born on July 23, 1856, in Ratnagiri, Maharashtra. Conferred with the title of Lokmanya, he was an Indian nationalist, teacher and independence activist. He was called “The father of the Indian unrest”, conferred with the title of of Lokmanya, which means” accepted by the people as a leader. It is important to remember his teachings and struggle. Bal Gangadhar Tilak is considered one of the first and strongest advocates of Swaraj when the British ruled India. He was not only a freedom fighter but also a social reformer and a lawyer.
On Sunday, 23rd July, all the school staff of Yashwantrao Chavan English Medium School- CBSE gathered to mark the birth anniversary of Lokmanya Tilak (Bal Gangadhar Tilak) with patriotic fervour to imbibe the true meaning of the day and follow glorious trails of the noble soul towards evolving a peaceful and prosperous world.
