India’s independence is the most joyous occasion in the history of India as it was earned after two centuries of enormous suffering, relentless struggle and innumerable sacrifices. It is a day that we Indians saw the dawn of freedom which marked a novel chapter in India’s vast and varied history.
The 77th Independence Day was celebrated in YCEMS on 15th August with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor to acknowledge and celebrate the spirit of free India. All the teachers and students assembled in the school premises at 7 a.m
The school campus was beautifully decorated with flowers, festoons, tricolor flags and balloons to commemorate the day. The event started with welcoming of guests by the newly elected council of student’s cabinet ministers followed by holy tradition of worshiping Goddess Saraswati with lighting up of lamp and garlanding her idol by the eminent guests.
The guests then hoisted the National Flag in the presence of a gleeful gathering.
As soon as the flag was hoisted, everyone sang the National Anthem in unison followed by flag song. The whole campus reverberated with the enthusiasm and excitement of the students and teachers alike displaying their love for the nation.
Our nation is a vibrant mosaic of cultures, languages, and traditions. To celebrate this diversity, many enchanting cultural performances were presented by the students like multilingual speeches , dances, songs that showcased the beauty, diversity and unity of our country.
The guests addressed the gathering about the sacrifices made by our freedom fighters and urged everyone to uphold our nation’s values and contribute towards its progress.Lastly Sweets were distributed among all the students .The event ended with a joyful note
