Lal Bahadur Shastri was an Indian politician and statesman who served as the country’s second Prime Minister from 1964 to 1966 and as its sixth Home Minister from 1961 to 1963. Shastri was born on October 2, 1904 in Mughalsarai to Sharada Prasad Srivastava and Ramdulari Devi.
