History always remembers the significance of man but there were many women who left such an impact on history that even today their praise is sung, bravery is remembered. One such magnificent person of women‟s valour was Jijamata. Yashwant rav English Medium school observed the Birth Anniversary of Jijamata in the honour of the great lady for her contribution to the life of her son, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. She was the source of information and motivation not only for her son but for the whole Maratha Empire and our country. The foundation of an independent Hindu nation was created by her son Shivaji Maharaj who made the dream come true. She was a daughter of a noble of Ahmednagar, LakhojiJadhav. Jijabai was born to LakhojirajeJadhav in Sindkhed territory of Vidharbh, Maharashtra in the year 1598 A.D. She was affectionately called as „Jijau‟.
