Guru Purnima is celebrated to honor and pay tribute to the selfless contributions of gurus, teachers, and mentors. It is observed on the full moon day (Purnima) in the Hindu month of Ashadha, which typically falls in July or August. It is a celebration of the guru-shishya parampara (teacher-disciple tradition), acknowledging the vital role gurus play in shaping individuals’ lives.
The festival is also associated with the birthday of Maharshi Veda Vyasa, a revered sage and author of the Mahabharata and Puranas.
