Yashwantrao Chavan English Medium School (CBSE) recently conducted an orientation program for both new and existing parents, with the objective of creating awareness about the school’s environment, policies, and values. The program began with a detailed introduction to the school infrastructure, where parents were given a tour of key facilities such as classrooms, laboratories, library, computer lab, playground, and activity zones. This allowed them to better understand the spaces where their children will learn and grow.
Following the tour, an informative session was held where various school policies were explained. The dress code and uniform policy were discussed in detail to ensure uniformity and discipline among students. Parents were also guided through the tiffin policy, emphasizing the importance of healthy eating habits. It was clearly mentioned that only home-cooked food is allowed in school, and strictly no junk food will be permitted. Suggestions were provided on how to pack nutritious and balanced meals for children.
The timetable structure and rules were introduced as per the academic plan of different sections – Pre-primary, Primary, Secondary, and Senior Secondary. Parents were made aware of the time allocations, subject periods, and the balance between academics and extracurriculars. In addition, the birthday celebration policy was discussed, highlighting simple and meaningful ways to celebrate such occasions in a school-appropriate manner without distributing sweets or gifts. The parents were also informed about the show timings for various school events and performances, which will differ as per the section, ensuring smooth coordination and participation throughout the year.
After the orientation session, to make the day more interactive and enjoyable, several fun-filled activities were organized for the parents. These included a lively game of musical chairs and a Zumba session, which were enthusiastically received. The winners of these activities were announced and were presented with gifts as a token of appreciation. As a heartfelt gesture from the school, all participating parents were also given a small token of love, symbolizing the school’s commitment to building a strong and positive relationship with every family.
